Within our tournament we have prepared the third year of the goalie competition
Florbal.com Goalie Contest ’10.
It’s a competition, where you can show your goalkeeping skills outside the floorball field against the best players of the Czech extraleague. Come and show that goalkeeping can be great fun.
You can register by 20.5.2010 via email at cup@florbal.com, or on Friday, 21.5.2010, in person with the organizers at the site of the competition. If you’re a goalie of one of the teams participating in the Jadberg-Florbal.com Cup, the registration fee is 150 CZK. If not, the registration fee is 250 CZK. You can pay the registration fee via bank transfer to the tournament account 670100-2200652678/6210 by 18.5.2010, or in cash at the site of the competition to the organizers.
Competition prizes:
1st place: 5,000 CZK gift voucher
2nd place: 3,000 CZK gift voucher
3rd place: 1,000 CZK gift voucher
All registered participants will receive a Florbal.com drinking bottle FOR FREE.
Saturday qualification stage:
The goal of the qualification is to qualify for the Top 8.
Saturday at 10.30 and 16.30, in the Hall CESA VUT Brno (two times are scheduled due to possible collision with any of the games; you can come at any one of the times). Presentation with the competition organizers.
Qualification:
Face three penalty shots according to the rules of the Czech Floorball Union.
Face three shots on goal from a distance of 8 m.
Points are awarded for successful saves – 1 point for a saved 8-meter shot, 2 points for a saved penalty shot.
Number of awarded points will decide about qualification for the Top 8. Goalies with the most awarded points will qualify to the Top 8.
In case any goalies are tied, they will be divided into pairs and battle for qualification to the Sunday final. If an odd number of goalies are tied, one trio will form a battle, and only the best of these three goalies will qualify for the Sunday final.
The battles will be played in a knock-out system; goalies with a successful save keep on playing, conceding goalies are eliminated. If both goalies save, or if both goalies concede, the shoot-out continues until one of the goalies saves and the other concedes. In case of a trio the rules are the same; conceding goalies are eliminated etc.
The battles will take place immediately after the end of the afternoon part of the qualification, i.e. approximately at 16:00.
After the end of the qualification and the battles, results of the qualification and draw of the Sunday final will be posted.
Sunday final:
Date – Sunday afternoon before the women’s final.

The final will be played in a knock-out system; the goalies will be drawn into pairs. In case the goalies are tied, penalty shoot-out will continue until the battle is decided (if one goalie saves and the other concedes, then the successful goalie qualifies for the next round).
A final battle will decide about the winner.
The third place is awarded to the losing semifinalist, who won more points in the semifinal. If the losing semifinalists are tied, a penalty shot will decide. If one goalie saves and the other concedes, then the successful goalie gets the third place.
Other information:
The competition will be played in cooperation with extraleague players. Individual rounds will be played „under pressure“; i.e. one player shoots and within 3 seconds after the 8-meter shot a penalty shot starts, then again within 3 seconds another player shoots, and again within 3 seconds another penalty shot starts, etc. according to the number of rounds. An 8-meter shot or a penalty shot that misses the goal is considered the goalie’s successful save. Luck plays its role, as it does in real games. The penalty shots will follow the rules of the Czech Floorball Union, and high-sticking is allowed during the 8-meter shot.
A maximum of 8 goalies qualifies to the final, according to the number of registered participants. Your goalkeeping equipment has to meet the international rules.
If you have any objections, you can lodge a protest upon payment of a deposit of 500 CZK. If the protest is upheld by the referees, you will be returned your deposit; otherwise the deposit will not be returned.
The above mentioned times of the qualification and the final are only approximate; check for updates with the organizers and according to the schedule of games. Change in the program by the organizers is reserved.

Organizer’s notice: if there aren’t at least 10 goalies registered, the competition will be cancelled.
